GICLEE REPRODUCTIONS |
AUTHENTIC ARCHIVAL GICLEE REPRODUCTIONS The word “giclee” is derived from a French word meaning “to spray on”. Through the printing process, pigmented inks are finely sprayed onto high quality rag watercolor paper using a large format commercial Epson printer. The result is incredible detail and a colorfastness that greatly surpasses other reproduction methods. The enhanced detail is a result of the resolution or DPI(dots per inch) registering higher than traditional lithographic reproductions(1440 dpi inkjet vs. 133 litho). The original artwork is put into a digital format using state of the art digital imaging equipment and software. Using our experience in digital imaging, we personally oversee the production of each giclee reproduction to insure that its color balance and detail will be as true to the original work as possible. Each reproduction is produced on acid free rag watercolor paper to provide the longest permanence available, with a life span tested up to 100 years. The combination of approved acid free materials and permanent pigmented inks gives these reproductions archival quality that can be enjoyed for generations. |
